Louisiana SBA Offers Growth Opportunity for Small Business Owners

Lynnette White-Colin, NOLABA Vice President of Small Business Ecosystem Development, shares news of the 2018 Emerging Leaders Accelerator that helps small business leaders develop smart growth strategies. New Orleans is one of 60 cities nationwide to offer this free program.

The Louisiana Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 2018 Emerging Leaders Accelerator is an excellent opportunity for progressive small business leaders. The annual program is designed to provide strategic, accelerated growth techniques steered by a prominent facilitator/small business growth expert.

Selected participants will engage in 100 hours of instruction consisting of boardroom-style sessions, peer-to-peer learning, meetings with mentors, financial assessments from a CPA, banking panels and more. Each participant will develop a 3-year growth strategy for his/her organization incorporating information and methodologies obtained throughout the program.

These businesses leave the program poised to access capital and public & private contract opportunities; increase annual revenues and create jobs for local residents.

The Emerging Leaders Accelerator targets owners of businesses with at least 1 additional employee and have been operating for a minimum of 3 years with $400K in annual revenue. *(Annual revenue less than $400K will be considered.)

Since the program commenced in 2008, SBA has graduated more than 5,000 small business owners nationally, creating over 6,500 jobs; generating $300 million in financing and $3.2 billion in government contracts.
