New Orleans, La. – The New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA) announced today that two new members have been appointed to its Board of Directors –Thomas S. Mabon and Richard Tallant – for three-year terms. Current Director Robert Wollfarth, of counsel with law firm Baker Donelson, has been reappointed to the Board, having been first appointed in 2013.

IBERIABANK Senior Relationship Manager Thomas S. Mabon currently serves in the company’s New Orleans Commercial Banking Group. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Mabon has worked extensively in commercial and  international banking across the South. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emory University and Georgetown University, respectively, and completed the Wharton School’s Executive Management Program at The University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Mabon is a former director of the World Trade Center New Orleans, Tulane University Medical Center, Business Council of New Orleans and the Tulane University President’s Council.

Mr. Tallant serves as asset manager for the Eastern Gulf of Mexico at Shell Deepwater, where he is responsible for the operational and financial performance of the Mars, Ursa, Olympus, Ram Powell and WD-143 platforms. Beginning as an engineer, Mr. Tallant’s various upstream positions with Shell have ranged from global strategy to offshore operations in a number of location including Houston, the Netherlands, and New Orleans. He holds dual degrees in petroleum engineering and economics from the University of Tulsa.

Mr. Mabon and Mr. Tallant fill seats vacated by John Hope III and Hasting Stewart at the close of 2015. NOLABA’s 17-member Board comprises a cross-section of New Orleans leaders, including Mayor Mitch Landrieu and a diverse group of business professionals. Board nominees are selected based on required subject matter expertise, company status and individual status, then forwarded to an Advisory Committee of the area’s seven university presidents for final review and approval.
