Food Production

Tennessee Williams wrote, “America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.” Well, we love Cleveland. Yet, when it comes to culture, we get Williams’ point.

New Orleans enjoys a unique vibe all its own. And, when it comes to food combined with our own Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler attitude, our apologies to New York and San Francisco because even those towns can’t match the Big Easy.

Now, add to the recipe a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a community that supports business (especially our food industry) with the kind of tax incentives few places even think about, and New Orleans is a winner.

VIRTUAL FOOD SITE TOURS

Our first Virtual Site Tour Series event of 2022 showcased the vast potential in New Orleans for current and prospective food entrepreneurs, highlighting several manufacturing/production spaces. Attendees gained valuable advice from three local experts who have managed to expand their operations in the past year despite the many challenges presented by COVID-19:

  • Christa Cotton, CEO of El Guapo Bitters
  • Zach Foster, CFO of Louisiana Pepper Exchange
  • Sinnidra Taylor, Founder of Friends of Codey’s NOLA & Crazy Waffle Bar
