The Greater New Orleans Foundation, New Orleans Business Alliance and other local leading partners again are proud to co-host and sponsor the re-scheduled BioDistrict Conference keynote address by Bruce Katz, a former Brookings Institute Centennial Scholar, nationally-acclaimed speaker, and author of The New Localism: How Cities Can Thrive in the Age of Populism.

The BioDistrict Conference originally was delayed because of the threat of Tropical Storm Gordon. The rescheduled event will now take place on Wednesday, October 31.

The event is free and open to the public. To sign up, click here. It will be held at Louisiana Cancer Research Center, 700 Tulane Ave. A networking reception begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program runs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

“The Geography of Innovation: The BioMedical District-The Premise and The Promise” will focus on the development of the BioMedical District of New Orleans as an Innovation District and the tools that can be leveraged to ensure prosperity and equitable development.

The Honorable LaToya Cantrell, Mayor of New Orleans, will speak to the conference attendees. Katz will be the keynote speaker.

In addition to his leadership at The Brookings Institution, Katz is co-founder of the New Localism Advisors which advises metropolitan, national, and global leaders from the government, business, and civic sectors on public reforms and private innovations that advance the competitiveness of metropolitan areas.

The conference was initiated by NAI Latter and Blum and is co-sponsored by the City of New Orleans; New Orleans Business Alliance; Greater New Orleans Foundation; Downtown Development District; Greater New Orleans, Inc.; New Orleans Chamber of Commerce; Tulane Medical Center; Ochsner Health Systems; New Orleans BioInnovation Center; Xavier University and the Spirit of Charity Initiative.
