Black Friday 2021: A slow start the morning after a Saints loss.
NEW ORLEANS — As Bentley Boldt unlocked the doors of Elle and its sister clothing boutique, Elle Last Call, on a sleepy Black Friday morning, there was only one thing on her mind: “I hope it’s crazy.”
Ms. Boldt manages the pair of boutiques that sit across the street from each other on Magazine Street, a six-mile stretch through Uptown New Orleans of national retailers, local shops, restaurants and bars. She’s been at Elle for six years, and the past few Black Fridays stand out for how quiet they’ve been.
