Our goal is to connect workers of all skill-levels and backgrounds to employers across multiple sectors and industries. The critical outcomes are better jobs with more economic opportunity and security for New Orleans residents; and, well-trained, work-ready employees for local businesses.
Connecting the Local Community
The New Orleans Business Alliance coordinates the delivery of shared job readiness programming with five flagship workforce organizations that offer decades of committed leadership and service. Together, we facilitate five Workforce Opportunity Centers in Orleans Parish: Goodwill of Southeastern Louisiana, JOB1 Business and Career Solutions, Total Community Action (TCA), the Urban League of Louisiana. Using a coordinated curriculum and strategy designed by STRIVE International, the Opportunity Centers deliver innovative job-readiness programming designed to both prepare and support workers and to provide employers with a skilled workforce.
In our partnership with STRIVE International, a nationwide program that serves people in disadvantaged communities, the collaborative ultimately connects job seekers to employment opportunities throughout New Orleans. In addition, the Opportunity Centers provide case management, skills training, and supportive services for job seekers that need preparation for quality job opportunities.
