Build­ing the NOLABA Organization

  • Estab­lished the new organization
  • Recruited and selected the Pres­i­dent & CEO
  • Hired crit­i­cal staff, relo­cated into per­ma­nent office space, estab­lished poli­cies and procedures
  • Devel­oped and exe­cuted agree­ments with the City of New Orleans, Greater New Orleans Inc., the World Trade Cen­ter, and the Board of Trade to clar­ify roles, inte­grate efforts, and opti­mize synergies
  • Launched the New Orleans Busi­ness Alliance newsletter

 

Strat­egy, Pol­icy & Research

  • Devel­oped New Orleans’ first eco­nomic impact model (EIM), a pro­pri­etary, state-of-the-art eco­nomic impact model to pro­vide fis­cal and eco­nomic pro­jec­tions of projects con­sid­er­ing invest-ment in the City
  • Con­tributed exper­tise and insight to the City Plan­ning Commission’s Mas­ter Plan and CZO process

 

Busi­ness Attrac­tion, Reten­tion, and Expansion

  • Pro­vided busi­ness attrac­tion ser­vices to over 20 new com­pa­nies that rep­re­sented a vari­ety of indus­tries in col­lab­o­ra­tion with pub­lic and pri­vate eco­nomic partners
  • Instru­men­tal in secur­ing com­mit­ments from three prospec­tive busi­nesses to locate in Orleans Parish
  • Launched the New Orleans Dig­i­tal Enter­tain­ment (NODE) ini­tia­tive to pro­vide ser­vices spe­cific to the dig­i­tal enter­tain­ment sector
  • Hosted three Chairman’s Break­fast Meet­ings to address spe­cific oppor­tu­ni­ties for Orleans Parish busi­nesses, includ­ing small busi­ness & entre­pre­neur­ship, gro­cery stores, and real estate
  • Launched the Delta­Plus ini­tia­tive, which worked with ninety-one (91) local businesses

 

Retail Attrac­tion

  • Estab­lished a retail strat­egy cen­tered on refin­ing the busi­ness case around neighborhood-specific demo­graph­ics and ensur­ing qual­ity real estate devel­op­ment to pro­vide turnkey ten­ant options
  • Devel­oped mar­ket­ing mate­ri­als to repo­si­tion Orleans Parish with local, regional, and national retailers
  • Estab­lished a pipeline of national retail­ers and devel­op­ers to attract to New Orleans
